Overview
Xpense is an expense tracker and budget manager for Android, built by InfyniteX. Xpense is designed to work entirely on your device: there is no account or sign-up, and your financial data (transactions, budgets, categories, notes, and reports) is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to InfyniteX or to any server we operate.
This policy explains what data Xpense handles, what a third-party service (Google AdMob, used to show ads) may collect, what permissions the app requests and why, and the choices available to you.
Information stored on your device
The following information is entered by you and stored only in the app's local storage on your device:
- Income and expense transactions, including amount, category, date, and notes
- Budgets you set per category
- Your profile name and profile photo, if you add one
- Your selected currency and theme preferences
- Backup files (a local copy of your data) and CSV exports you create
None of the information above is transmitted to InfyniteX, to any server, or to any third party. We do not have access to it, and we cannot see, recover, or restore it on your behalf if it's lost — it exists only on your device and in any backup file you choose to save.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Xpense is free to use and shows minimal, non-intrusive ads through Google AdMob. To deliver ads, AdMob's SDK may automatically collect information such as your device's advertising identifier, general device and app information, approximate location derived from IP address, and ad interaction data (such as ads shown or clicked). This is handled by Google, not by InfyniteX, and is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
This data is used for ad delivery and, where applicable, ad measurement and personalization. It is not linked to the financial data you enter into Xpense, which stays on your device and is never shared with AdMob or any ad partner.
You can review or adjust how Google personalizes ads for you, or opt out of ad personalization, in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads on most Android devices), and you can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
App permissions
Xpense requests the following device permissions:
- Storage / photo access — to let you choose a profile photo from your gallery, and to save and read local backup files and CSV exports in your device's Downloads folder
- Camera access — used only when you choose to take a profile photo directly from your camera. We do not access your camera at any other time
- Internet access — required only so that Google AdMob can request and display ads; no financial data you enter is ever sent over this connection
Xpense does not request access to your contacts, location, SMS, or call data, and does not use any analytics or crash-reporting service. Photos taken with the camera or chosen from your gallery are only ever stored locally on your device as your profile photo — never uploaded anywhere.
Data sharing
InfyniteX does not sell, rent, or share your financial data with anyone, because we never receive it in the first place — it stays on your device. The only outside party involved is Google AdMob, solely for ad delivery as described above.
Data retention and deletion
Your transactions, budgets, and profile data remain on your device until you delete them within the app, clear the app's storage in Android Settings, or uninstall Xpense. Backup files and CSV exports you've saved to your Downloads folder are not removed automatically when you clear app data or uninstall the app — you can delete those files yourself at any time using your device's file manager.
Children's privacy
Xpense is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because Xpense does not collect personal information at all beyond what's described above, no such data is knowingly collected from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date below and post the revised policy at this same address. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
